- Do dogs really see in black and white?
No. The old black-and-white claim was a 1930s misinterpretation. Dogs have two cone types instead of three, so they see blue and yellow but cannot separate red from green — closer to red-green colour blindness in humans. - Why does my dog ignore the red toy?
A red toy on green grass is nearly the same shade of grey-brown to a dog. Blue and yellow toys stand out; high-contrast patterns help more than pure colour. - Is this tool accurate?
It applies the Machado, Oliveira & Fernandes (2009) dichromat transform in linear-light colour space, plus a lower-acuity blur. It is an educational approximation of colour perception, not a measurement of your dog's eyesight. - Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
